Week of Caring

We would like to thank Spartanburg Water and Smith Drug Co. for helping us through the United Way's Week of Caring!

Thanks to Spartanburg Water, our building is looking beautiful! They pressure washed the outside of the building as well as helped us with some much needed yard work.

Smith Drug Company painted one of our classrooms that will be used for important meetings and GED tutoring. It looks like a brand new room!

Thanks again for all the help you were to us during the Week of Caring, and for your commitment to serving the families in our community!

Swofford installing new outdoor lights!

The Swofford Career Center is a great facility educating young individuals in a trade. We are so happy to have Craig Seay and his students install our new outdoor lighting under the covered walkways. The benefit is two-fold--students in the electricity program are getting on the job training and we get excellent quality workmanship.

Moving Forward Together

Even though the Christmas season is a fading memory at this time of year, the effects of our community’s generosity over the past year linger in my thoughts. Well before the Christmas rush began, the Upstate Family Resource Center was blessed by the philanthropic deeds of others. Businesses donated time to paint rooms, do yard work, and donate food as well as financial resources. Civic groups also helped with projects on campus and donated food to our pantry. Our schools - elementary to secondary have raised money and organized successful food drives. During the holiday season churches, social clubs, families and businesses have made Christmas possible for many in our community. Thank you to all of you who have given so unselfishly this past year.

As we look to the year ahead, there are many unknowns. The faces of those in need of assistance have already changed. We would like to ask that everyone continue to maintain the open heart and generous spirit that is already characteristic of our community. Times will undoubtedly continue to challenge families, businesses and our community as a whole, but by working together and continuing to give time, talents and financial resources whenever possible, our community will not only withstand the times ahead, but grow stronger together because of them.

The Upstate Family Resource Center expresses our deepest gratitude for all your gracious contributions and we look forward to serving the families of our community with your continued support.

Milliken is AWESOME!

Today is an exciting day!! Milliken and Company came to paint several of our rooms. This is so great for us as this helps us to have a more uniform and professional look around the building.
We are SO blessed to be in an area where businesses and companies like Milliken are willing to give up time from their busy schedule and help their community out!
Come and see how awesome our historical building looks and learn about what we do!!

God Bless,
Jessica
